LINE Group Community Guidelines

This LINE group is named “Life In Thailand Community” and is intended for participants who have completed A Guide to Speaking Thai Course One. We’re here to support each other’s continued learning journey, explore Thai culture, and build a fun, inclusive group. To keep things positive and productive, let’s all agree to follow these guidelines so that together, we can create a thriving community:

Focus:
• Learning Thai: Share tips, ask questions, and practice your Thai speaking skills within the group.
• Thai Culture: Ask questions about Thai customs, traditions, and etiquette. Share interesting cultural experiences you’ve had.
• Community Meet-ups: Organize and discuss safe, in-person meet-ups to practice Thai and explore Thailand together.
• Study Submissions: Share helpful study resources, learning methods, links to helpful videos and questions.

Respectful Communication:
• Be kind and courteous towards all members.
• Disagreements are okay, but discuss them respectfully.
• Avoid offensive language, insults, or personal attacks.

Content Restrictions:
• No spamming or advertising (unless approved by the group admin).
• Avoid sharing inappropriate or NSFW content.
• Refrain from political or religious discussions that could be divisive.
• Respect the privacy of others – don’t share personal information without consent.

Staying Safe
• Exercise caution when arranging meet-ups. Only meet in public places with trusted people.
• If you feel uncomfortable with anything shared in the group, report it to the admin.

Additional Notes:
• The admin may remove content or members who violate these guidelines.
• Feel free to suggest new topics for discussion that fit within the group’s focus.

Consequences and Enforcement
To maintain a positive and respectful environment, we’ll have a tiered system for addressing violations of the community guidelines:

1. Friendly Reminder:
• For minor offenses (e.g., accidentally posting off-topic content), the admin will send a friendly reminder message privately. This will highlight the specific guideline that was violated and politely encourage the member to stay on topic.

2. Warning:
• For repeated minor offenses or more serious violations (e.g., disrespectful language), the admin will send a formal warning message privately. It will explain the violation, reference the relevant guideline, and emphasize the importance of following the rules.

3. Temporary Removal:
• In cases of severe violations (e.g., sharing inappropriate content), the admin may temporarily remove the member from the group for a set period. This allows everyone a chance to cool down and discourages repetitive offenses. The member will receive a message explaining the violation and the duration of the removal.

4. Permanent Removal:
• As a last resort, for continued disregard for the guidelines or extremely disruptive behavior, the admin may permanently remove the member from the group. This decision will be communicated clearly, explaining the violation and the reason for permanent removal.

Enforcement:
• The admin will monitor the group and address any reported issues.
Members are encouraged to report any violations that make them feel uncomfortable.
• All decisions will be made fairly and with the goal of maintaining a positive and productive community.

Remember:
The goal is to guide members back to following the guidelines, not to punish them. Open communication is key. If you’re unsure about anything, feel free to ask the admin. By working together, we can ensure “Life in Thailand” remains a safe and supportive space for everyone to learn and connect.
